Description Polystyrene is a colorless and transparent thermoplastic, among which expanded polystyrene is commonly known as Styrofoam.
Application This is a well-defined polystyrene with thiol functionality on one end and cyano on the other. The thiol functionality is veratile and commonly used in surface modifying nanoparticles; attaching to Au to form self assembled monolayers (SAMs); as well as thiol - ene click chemistry.
Features And Benefits It is easily corroded by strong acid and alkali, and can be dissolved by various organic solvents, such as acetone and ethyl acetate. Not resistant to grease, easy to change color when exposed to UV light.
