Description Polyvinyl chloride is a polymer material obtained by addition polymerization of vinyl chloride. It is the third most widely produced synthetic plastic polymer after polyethylene and polypropylene.
Application PVC comes in two basic forms: rigid and flexible. Rigid form PVC material can be used on pipes, doors and windows, it can also be used in bottles, other non-food packaging, and bank or loyalty cards. It can also be made into a soft finished product, which can be made more flexible by adding plasticizers.
Features And Benefits Stable; not easy to be corroded by acid and alkali; heat-resistant than polyethylene but not as good as polypropylene. The biggest feature of PVC is flame retardant, so it is widely used in fire protection applications. But PVC releases hydrogen chloride, chlorine and other toxic gases when heated above 148°C.
