Description Poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) and its copolymers are among the most studied biodegradable polymers. PLLA is a crystalline polymer with good mechanical properties. The applications of PLLA are mainly concentrated in biomedical applications.
Application Poly(L-lactide) is a semi-crystalline biodegradable polymer used in drug delivery; the azide functionality is commonly utilized in copper mediated ligation. PLLA is soluble in toluene, THF, CHCl3, and CH2Cl2; insoluble in methanol; hexane and ether.
