It is a biodegradable, non-toxic, biocompatible plastic naturally produced by bacteria and a good alternative to many non-biodegradable synthetic polymers. It is a thermoplastic linear aliphatic polyester. By 3-hydroxybutyric acid and 3-hydroxyvaleric acid copolymer obtained.
