- Optical Surface Modification Coatings
In optical applications, correct surface modification of your optical product will give numerous performance benefits. Alfa Chemistry has a number of optical surface functionalization processes that can help any optical component or product perform better. Hydrophilic coatings, hydrophobic coatings, oleophobic coatings, anti-fingerprint coatings, adhesion boosting coatings, anti-fingerprint coatings, and conventional optical thin film coatings are among our optical coating alternatives. These coatings make substrates hydrophilic for anti-fog qualities, repellent for easy cleaning and anti-fouling capabilities, and stronger adhesive properties. We provide optical surface modification coatings that can be utilized to tackle a wide range of issues in optical applications. Here are a few examples of how our thin-film optical coatings can improve the quality of your products.
On the surface of your optical products, we apply a number of optical surface coating processes to create durable, optically clear, consistent hydrophilic, hydrophobic, or oleophobic thin nanocoatings. Surface energy can measure water contact angles of 115°-120°, oil contact angles of 75°-85°, and water contact angles of less than 10°.
Our adhesion-promoting surface modification approach was designed to improve the adhesive qualities of oxide-containing surfaces in optical applications (glass and synthetic sapphire). The coating decreases substrate surface delamination and adhesion failure by directly functionalizing the surface. Improved the adhesio of touchscreen display stacks is a common use.
Alfa Chemistry also offers a variety of optical coating technologies, including magnetron sputtering, resistive evaporation, and ion-assisted electron beam deposition, as well as the ability to customize a variety of transparent and reflective standard optical films to meet your most stringent requirements. Silicon, germanium, sapphire, filter glass, borosilicate glass, calcium fluoride, zinc selenide, and other substrate materials are all compatible with our technique.
Coatings that can be built include, but are not limited to:
