Customized Temperature Management Coating

INQUIRY

With the advancement of functional coatings, you may now select the appropriate coating technology to dramatically reduce the substrate's surface temperature. Temperature management coatings, for example, can reduce heating on a vehicle's surface to as low as 20°C, lowering interior temperatures. Customers can order unique temperature management coatings from Alfa Chemistry. To assist your application, we provide a number of coating options.

Alfa Chemistry Customized Optical Coating

Hot Mirror Coatings

For our customers' thermal management applications, Alfa Chemistry creates unique thermoscopic coatings. We deposit thin film dielectric multilayer coatings onto glass substrates such as soda lime or borosilicate to reflect infrared light. In the visible range, the coating has a high transmittance, whereas in the infrared region, it has a high reflectance. It's a method of using reflected wavelengths in applications or removing them from them. Customers can order custom sizes and thicknesses, as well as unique designs, upon request.

  • Hot Mirror Coating Type 1

At 0 degrees, the coating transmits visible light while reflecting infrared radiation. In the wavelength range of 425 to 675 nm, the average transmittance is greater than 93 percent. From 750 to 1150nm, the average reflectance is greater than 95%. Custom incidence angles can be created to meet your needs.

  • Hot Mirror Coating Type 2

With an average transmittance greater than 85 percent in the 420-680nm range, less than 1% in the 200-380nm region, and greater than 95 percent in the 730-1500nm range, this coating provides exceptional UV blocking capability.

  • Hot Mirror Coating Type 3

This coating uses a combination of reflectivity and absorbance to block a wide variety of infrared wavelengths while allowing visible light to pass through.

Cold Mirror Coatings

Alfa Chemistry provides customers with unique cold mirror coating services. Multiple layers of dielectric films are applied to a heat-resistant borosilicate glass substrate to reflect UV or visible light while transmitting infrared radiation. The coatings have high near-infrared transmittance, can work at temperatures beyond 400°C, are robust, and are simple to clean.

  • UV Cold Mirror Coating

In the UV region of 350-450nm, the coating has an average reflectance of >95 percent, and in the 550-1200nm wavelength range, it has an average transmittance of >90 percent.

  • 0° or 45° cold mirror coating

The coating works at angles of incidence of 0° or 45°, reflecting visible light while transmitting infrared radiation. In the wavelength range of 425-650nm, the average reflectance is greater than 95%. In the 800-1200nm range, the average transmittance is greater than 85%. For positive incidence applications, 0° coatings are commonly employed. Vertical incidence applications typically use a 5° angle. Custom incidence angles can be created to meet your needs.

Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) Heating Coating

Alfa Chemistry offers high-durability, transparent ITO heating coatings to its customers. We can make sheet resistivities as low as 5 to 10 ohms/sq by reducing the ITO thickness as much as possible. As a result, the coating is low in reflectance.
