Alfa Chemistry has a variety of surface coating technologies that can functionalize a variety of substrate types to be repellent. Our repellency nanocoating treatments improve the performance of almost any product through easy-to-apply nanocoatings and treatments that can be combined with a variety of surfaces.
Alfa Chemistry repellent surface nano-coating technology is highly repellent to almost all liquids, and can provide a variety of performance advantages. In addition, these coatings are ultra-thin (nanoscale), optically transparent and durable. There are many performance advantages with a repellent surface in countless applications. Want to know more? Alfa Chemistry's hydrophobic nano-coating treatment increases the performance of practically any product by combining easy-to-apply nano-scale coatings and treatments with a variety of surfaces. We can also apply an oleophobic nano-coating treatment to the surface to functionalize it and make it more resistant to oils, solvents, and most liquids. These nano-scale, easy-to-apply, and effective oleophobic coating solutions can attach to a variety of surfaces.
Alfa Chemistry also has a number of surface coating technologies that may be used to functionalize a range of substrate types and make them easy to clean. We can create an easy-to-clean nano-coating and treatment for you that repels water, oil, solvent, grease, and adhesives/resins while also providing a number of performance benefits.
One of the main causes of electronic failure is corrosion. When the component breaks, moisture will penetrate in. This can be avoided by preventing moisture from eroding the component with a hydrophobic conformal coating. By shielding circuit boards from accidental and complete immersion, our award-winning electronic waterproof coating technique improves the performance of all electrical goods. Compared with conformal coatings, this coating is easier to use and more scalable, and its performance ranges from accidental exposure to water to IPX7 and higher.
Alfa Chemistry repellency coatings can be used for a variety of materials, including the following materials. If you don't see a specific substrate listed, we can still process it. Contact us to discuss your situation.
Metals: Stainless Steel, Tin, Aluminum, Copper, Nickel, Titanium, Gold, Platinum, Palladium, Chromium, Tungsten, Silver, Zinc, Titanium, Tantalum, Indium
Polymers: Nylon, Polyimides, ABS, Kevlar, Polycarbonate, Bismaleimide Triazine, Aramid, Oxide-Reinforced Polymers, FR4, Polyamides, Polysiloxanes, SU8, Polyesters
Glass/Ceramics: Borosilicate Glass, Porcelain, Tile, Granite, Mirrors
Semiconductors: Silicon, Aluminum Nitride, Gallium Arsenide, Germanium, Cadmium Sulfide
The most viscous food, the most viscous oil will be difficult to adhere to fluorine-based materials. The ability to repel water, oil and dirt is probably the most famous feature provided by fluorine-based resins and coatings. Alfa Chemistry recommends the use of fluoropolymers to build non-stick coatings. Please contact us for more technical information.
Why are fluoropolymers not sticky and repellent?
Due to the stable CF bond, fluorine-containing compounds have less attractive force between molecules.
