Silver is a reasonably inexpensive metal. Silver is frequently used for its aesthetic, electrical, and thermal properties. It is the metal with the highest electrical and thermal conductivity. It's also very malleable, malleable, and weldable.
Silver with functional surfaces provides numerous performance benefits in a wide range of applications. Alfa Chemistry supplies silver substrates with unique functionalized coating services. You can increase the performance of practically any silver-based product with our broad and simple-to-apply specialty coating treatments. Work with us to make your silver surfaces more functional!
Alfa Chemistry provides a number of surface coating technologies that may be used to functionalize the surface of metallic silver, resulting in a variety of performance improvements. The following are just a few of our silver surface modification technology options:
These coatings we can build are nanoscale, optically clear, and very durable.

Case 1: Ultra-thin hydrophilic polymer coating
Induced chemical vapor deposition (iCVD) is a low-temperature, solvent-free polymer coating process for producing controlled conformal nanocoatings. The coating process begins with the introduction of an initiator and monomer vapor into a vacuum chamber, where the initiator decomposes into free radicals when heated by a hot wire, and the monomers adsorb and polymerize onto the substrate. Stoichiometric crosslinked coatings can be easily created by inserting crosslinkers and functional monomers, resulting in stable and lasting hydrophilic polymer coatings.
Alfa Chemistry applies conformal coatings of nanoscale cross-linked hydrophilic polymers to Ag substrates via an iCVD technique. The hydrophilicity of the Ag substrate is imparted by the comparatively low cross-linked p(DMAEMA-co-EGDMA) coating.

Case 2: Ag coating enhances electrical and thermal properties of AgNWs TCEs
Alfa Chemistry coats Ag nanowires (AgNWs) with Ag layers to improve the electrical and thermal properties of AgNW transparent conductive electrodes (TCEs) and synthesizes AgNWs with high aspect ratios. We achieved a smooth Ag coating on AgNWs by adjusting the electrodeposition current and duration, as well as the pH of the electrolyte solution. The thin layer resistance was also lowered from ~250 Ω/sq to ~10 Ω/sq, and the thermal stability was increased by 20 degrees.
