Polyamide fabrics, as one of the most prevalent synthetic fiber materials, have been widely employed in both military and civilian applications due to their good mechanical qualities, dyeability, and chemical and shrinkage resistance. In a wide range of applications, polyamide surfaces with functional surfaces can give a number of performance benefits. Alfa Chemistry provides a one-of-a-kind variety of polyamide functionalized surface coating services. You can change the surface properties of nearly any polyamide-related product using our wide and simple surface modification technology. Working with us guarantees that you will be able to modify the surface of your product with ease!
Alfa Chemistry provides customers with a range of polymer surface coating technologies that may be used to functionalize the surface of polyamide materials and provide them with a variety of unique surface features. The following are some of our surface modification technology possibilities, however, they are not exhaustive. Please contact us for more technical information.

Case 1: Poly-lysine biomolecular coating
Polyamide textiles have poor wear comfort due to their inherent hydrophobicity and do not possess the antimicrobial properties that are essential to prevent bacterial infections. To address these issues, Alfa Chemistry used polylysine (PLL) biomolecules to prepare hydrophilic antimicrobial surfaces on PA fabrics by dip-coating techniques. PLL-coated fabrics exhibit excellent hydrophilic and antimicrobial properties as well as good wash resistance.PLL biomolecules can be used as surface coating agents to impart both hydrophilic and antimicrobial functions to PA fibers.

Case 2: Bio-based flame retardant coating
Fabrics made of polyamide 66 (PA 66) are one of the most common synthetic fibers. The flammability of PA 66 materials, on the other hand, limits their use.
Alfa Chemistry has developed a bio-based flame retardant coating that uses IP 6 biomolecules to lower the flammability of polyamide 66 (PA 66) fabrics and solve the melt-drop issue. The coated PA fabric achieved the highest LOI value of 32.3 and self-extinguishing behavior without melt dips in tests, demonstrating the O-IP 6 coating's capacity to improve the fire performance of thermoplastic polyamide fabrics.
