A mirror is a transparent item with a smooth surface that can reflect light. The flat mirror is the most popular type of mirror, and it is frequently used to manage people's appearance. Mirrors are frequently employed in scientific instruments such as telescopes, lasers, and industrial machinery.
Mirrors with functional surfaces can offer a variety of benefits in a variety of situations. For mirror substrates, Alfa Chemistry provides one-of-a-kind functionalized surface coating services. You can change the surface features of practically any mirror product using our wide and simple surface modification methods. Working with us guarantees that you will be able to modify the surface of your product with ease!
Alfa Chemistry provides customers with a number of glass or ceramic surface coating technologies that can be functionalized in a variety of ways to impart a variety of unique surface qualities to mirror materials. The following are some of our surface modification technology possibilities, however, they are not exhaustive. For more technical details, please contact us.

Case 1: Fluorine-free transparent anti-reflective hydrophobic coating with self-cleaning function
For mirror applications, transparent coatings with a self-cleaning capability hold a lot of potential. Low transmittance and fluorinated materials, however, limit their applicability. As a result, it's vital to develop low-cost, extremely transparent fluorine-free coatings.
Alfa Chemistry has created a fluorine-free, transparent, anti-reflective hydrophobic coating with outstanding self-cleaning capabilities. Hydrolysis of TEOS and hydrophobic modification of methyl MQ silicone resin were used to create the coating (Me-MQ). Me-MQ has good mechanical qualities, exceptional high-temperature resistance, outstanding durability, excellent weatherability, and excellent water resistance thanks to its long-chain spherical molecular structure.

The coating has the versatility of 99.5% light transmission, hydrophobic 142° water contact angle, UV resistance and thermal stability. The hydrophobic coating surface also has good self-cleaning and anti-fouling properties.
