Self-cleaning Glass Nanocoating

We can create a novel titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanocoating that forms a permanent protective layer without altering the appearance of the surface. A thin hydrophilic film can be formed by the coating, which is only a few nanometers thick. Under natural sunlight, a photocatalytic process produces hydrophilicity. The surface tension rises above the air/water value, forcing the condensed water to spread evenly across the entire surface. The highly durable transparent nano-coating is commonly used in agricultural greenhouses and solar panels and may be applied to glass and other hard and smooth surfaces.

Silica-Based Hydrophobic Nanocoating

We have developed a special formula to coat a smooth glass-like surface to reduce contact with dirt particles. Due to the high hardness, glass-like surfaces are often difficult to coat. For example, the two most common chemical bonds in ceramic materials are covalent bonds and ionic bonds. The bonds between atoms are much stronger in bonding than in metals. Hydrophobic and oleophobic effects will cause pollutant particles such as grease, oil, lime, and environmental pollution materials to less adhere to the coated substrate, and make them easy to remove from the coating surface.

Compared with competing products, the SiO2-based coatings have the following advantages:

  • Persistence and longevity: UV stability allows the function to be used for several years.
  • Wear-resistant and easy-to-clean effect: The permanent chemical bond with the substrate can achieve excellent wear resistance.
  • Chemical stability: The product can resist almost all standard household and industrial cleaners (except concentrated lye). Note: Chemicals with pH values of 13 and 14 will corrode the coating!
